It's been a few months since Ekin-Su and Davide were crowned the king and queen of "Love Island" 2022, but their summer of love didn't end when they left the villa. Instead, the loved-up pair packed their suitcases again to head to Davide's hometown in Italy and Ekin-Su's beloved Turkey for a new ITV2 show.
"Ekin-Su & Davide: Homecomings" is a two-part series, with episode one airing on Monday, 28 Nov. and the second episode on Tuesday, 29 Nov., that sees the fiery couple embark on life outside the "Love Island" bubble. They begin their trip by heading to Davide's hometown of Frosinone in central Italy before making a romantic visit to the city of love, Verona, which offers some serious "Romeo and Juliet" vibes.
Next, the couple head to Istanbul, Turkey where Ekin-Su meets up with the actors she worked with in her day job pre-"Love Island". An eight-hour road trip in a campervan follows as they end up in Ekin-Su's family village of Odemis where they hang out with her family.
While spending time in a confined motorhome might mean tension for many, for Ekin-su and Davide, it made them realise how alike they are. "It felt too good to be true, I kept thinking how are you here in Turkey with my grandma? It was honestly amazing," Ekin-su said to ITV.
With Davide's cooking skills praised on "Love Island", expect kitchen skills to be a common thread in the show. Turkish sarma and Italian gnocchi are just a couple of the dishes made by the pair, while we also get a glimpse of Davide in a Turkish bath.
Being introduced to your partner's family and friends is a big step in any relationship, let alone being filmed along the way. If there's one thing we've learnt from watching Ekin-Su and Davide's relationship play out this summer, it's that they don't do things by halves. As other couples like Luca and Gemma haven't gone the distance, Ekin-su and Davide join the list of "Love Island" couples still together and thriving. Whether it's pancake competitions, tiramisu declarations of love, or explosive rows, the pair are anything but boring.
