The Best SNL Halloween Sketches of All Time — Yes, We Included David S. Pumpkins

This technically didn't air in October, but a Scream spoof is as Halloween as it gets. John Mulaney and Pete Davidson are the odd comedy duo that work surprisingly well, and their synergy makes this hilarious SNLd igital short everything. Davidson portrays the chill, laidback bro Chad, who's the Drew Barrymore character in Scream across Mulaney's Ghostface. But the villain doesn't quite give the scare that he wants because Chad shrugs everything off.

At a campfire, Seth Meyers tells his friends a scary story about getting a coffee with one of the most frightening creatures out there . . . a 22-year-old recent grad and aspiring filmmaker. It's more or less an absurd monologue with Meyers's signature dry humour, but we're not mad.

OK, so this sketch gets a little . . . autumnal with a raunchy twist. Mikey Day (in very attractive dad glasses, might we add) plays a manager at a pumpkin patch who gives his employees (Awkwafina, Beck Bennett, and Kyle Mooney) a stern talk when he finds desecrated pumpkins . . . which may or may not have been given the American Pie treatment.

Kate McKinnon as Kellyanne Conway as Pennywise the Clown is pure brilliance. Anderson Cooper (Alex Moffat) dons a yellow suit and finds the political adviser lurking in a sewer.

Tom Hanks might have been Forrest Gump and Captain Sully Sullenberger, but we'll forever know him as David S. Pumpkins. In this widely beloved sketch, he portrays a man in a pumpkin suit who tries to scare guests on a haunted lift attraction by goofily dancing with a pair of skeletons.

A group of basic gal pals' plan for a low-key Halloween goes terribly wrong after the girls had a little bit too much to drink. Think something in the vein of Someone Great, Girls Trip, or Ibiza . . . but Halloween-themed.

Here, Leslie Jones portrays the sceptic scientist who tags along with a group of paranormal researchers at a supposedly haunted house. After hearing some noises, she's no longer a sceptic, and it may or may not be this sketch that made her into a bona fide ghostbuster.

Two visitors at a graveyard find themselves among singing ghouls who try to give them a good spook. However, the ghosts of Paul and Phil (Jim Carrey and Taran Killam) keep messing up the scary ambiance with their backcountry bro ad-libbing.

Kenan Thompson plays Family Feud's Steve Harvey, who has a hilariously hard time figuring out Halloween costumes while chatting with Spooky City's Jake Pickler (Edward Norton). Prepare for lots of puns and fun guesses!

The Merryville Brothers wreak havoc on Jay Pharaoh and Vanessa Bayer's date at a haunted castle. In addition to their creepy robotic gestures, the animatronic brothers (Taran Killam, Bill Hader, Tom Hanks, and Bruno Mars) also pull out scary weapons as the couple wait for the ride to be fixed. Hanks and Mars, two men notorious for their feel-good niche in pop culture, will surprisingly give you the heebie-jeebies in this sketch.

Would it be an SNL roundup without a shout-out to Bill Hader as the darkly absurd Stefon? The jumpy correspondent gives all of the hottest tips on things to do around New York City during Halloween.

Drake and Jay Pharaoh as sexy rapping werewolves? Even if they are riffing off about taking candy from children, we're in.

Googie Rene, played by Kenan Thompson, owns a store with popular Halloween costumes, but since his pieces aren't new, he comes up with ideas on how you can mask their imperfections. Hilarity ensues!

Bill Hader, the king of impressions, is an absolute delight as the late Vincent Price. On the show, he has Kristen Wiig as Judy Garland, Jon Hamm as John F. Kennedy, and Fred Armisen as Liberace, his guests proving to be more difficult than he anticipated.

Dan Aykroyd plays a hyper spokesperson who tells us all about the Bat-O-Matic, a blender that mixes everything needed in a witch's potion. You'll need a whole bat, so you're getting something more special than your typical Jamba Juice smoothie.
