The two actors first met on a blind date in 2000, according to People. "I picked three different restaurants [and] she said yes to one of them," Macht told Glamour in 2009 of their first date. "We closed down the place, and we've been together ever since."

As for what exactly drew him to Barrett, Macht responded, "She had me laughing. She was a great listener and she was able to balance a conversation where it wasn't just all about her or me."
