Watch John Legend and Sam Smith's One World Performance

John Legend and Sam Smith's "Stand by Me" Duet Is a Beautiful Reminder to Stay United

The One World: Together at Home special united some of music's finest on April 18. Among the standout performers were John Legend and Sam Smith, who joined forces to sing a cover of Ben E. King's "Stand by Me." Legend played the piano and crooned alongside Smith as they showed off their beautiful vocals and delivered one of the most heartwarming duets of the evening.

The broadcast, which helped raise $127 million (approximately £110 million) to support coronavirus response funds, was a collaboration between the World Health Organisation, Global Citizen, and Lady Gaga. It was held to honour the healthcare workers who are battling the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as encourage people around the world to stay optimistic. Other performances included Gaga, who sang "Smile," and Lizzo, who belted "A Change Is Gonna Come." Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift, and Jennifer Lopez also gave us some uplifting at-home sets.
