Watch Joseph Quinn Rattle Off a "Stranger Things" Monologue in Wildly Different Accents
Joseph Quinn's first-ever talk-show appearance certainly didn't disappoint. The "Stranger Things" star stopped by "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on 25 July and cranked up the charm as he discussed portraying lovable Hellfire Club leader Eddie Munson in the sci-fi drama's fourth season. Quinn kicked things off by admitting that he almost missed his late-night debut after being held up by immigration upon his arrival to the country.
"I was taken into a dungeon, and I was asked to wait there for about 20 minutes," he recalled. "Then I was summoned to this desk where someone asked me, 'What are you doing in the United States, sir?'" Thankfully, an officer who recognised the actor came to the rescue. "One of his colleagues looked over at me, looked to him, and said, 'Leave Eddie alone.'" That seemed to jog the questioner's memory. "He was like, 'Do you come back next season?' And I said, 'Um, I don't know.'" Quinn's not-so-definitive answer could've been his subtle way of hinting that perhaps Eddie isn't dead after all — a popular theory among "Stranger Things" fans.
After discussing Eddie's "Master of Puppets" guitar solo and working with costars Joe Keery and Gaten Matarazzo, Quinn showed off his knack for accents in a challenge posed by Fallon. He performed Eddie's "Stranger Things" monologue from the school cafeteria scene, speaking each line in a different accent, including Scottish, Liverpool, Australian, New York, and Welsh.
