Labrinth's "I'm Tired" From "Euphoria" Says a Lot About Rue's State of Mind

Season two of "Euphoria" is even more intense and unsettling than the first season, if you can believe it. And it has a soundtrack to match. Labrinth, the brilliant composer behind popular songs "Still Don't Know My Name" and "All for Us" from season one, is back again for season two. The singer-songwriter elevates the intensity of the show with a score that tugs on your heart and makes you feel the heaviness of the subject matter in each episode, and the latest episode is no different.

During a powerful scene highlighting the spiralling nature of Rue's substance abuse, Labrinth is seen singing his newest song composed for "Euphoria" in a church full of people, and fans (including myself) have since been eager to listen to the song on repeat. It's just that good.

What Happened in "Euphoria" Season 2, Episode 4, and What Song Was Labrinth Singing at the End?

The latest episode of "Euphoria," titled "You Who Cannot See, Think of Those Who Can," took viewers on a wild ride. Just when you thought things couldn't get more complicated, heartbreaking, and messy, this episode came through and amplified the stakes to a whole new degree. Cassie's obsession with Nate is at an all-time high, and when he rekindles his relationship with Maddy (as toxic as it may be), she falls into a deep depression. Cal drunkenly confesses his secrets to his family. Jules and Elliot grow closer and hook up, while Rue's substance abuse continues to consume her.

Towards the end of the episode, following a fight with Jules, an already high Rue dips into her suitcase of drugs to sell and takes multiple pills. After this, Rue tiredly walks into a church, surrounded by people, including Jules and Elliot, and embraces the choir leader (Labrinth) as he passionately sings "I'm Tired." While hugging him, Rue is also hallucinating that she is embracing her father, and she apologises for her wrongdoings. The church and Rue's reunion with her father, combined with the amount of drugs she's taken, allude to her potentially overdosing, but we won't know the outcome until the next episode.

What Are Labrinth's "I'm Tired" Lyrics?

The lyrics for "I'm Tired" correlate with Rue and her journey with substance abuse disorder, which she is ultimately tired of. In the scene, Labrinth sings the lyrics, "Hey Lord, you know I'm fighting, I'm sure this world is done with me. Hey Lord, you know it's true. Now the tide is rolling in, I ain't tryin' to win. Let it take me, I'll be on my way. How long can I stay in a place that cannot contain me?"

How to Listen to "I'm Tired" by Labrinth From "Euphoria"

Unfortunately, "I'm Tired" is unreleased, and is not available on music streaming platforms. Though it is not released yet, it will most likely be on the "Euphoria" season two soundtrack.

When Does the "Euphoria" Season 2 Soundtrack Come Out?

We can expect that the season two soundtrack will be released sometime in March or early April, given that the soundtrack for the first season was released two months after the season finale. The season finale of season two will air on 27 Feb., 2022, so anticipate a soundtrack release by the early spring!
