Little Mix had a big (and busy!) night at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards. In addition to hosting the event and being nominated for four awards, they also had the chance perform "Sweet Melody", the new single off of the group's most recent studio album, Confetti.
"What an honour!" the group said in a statement to MTV in anticipation of the event. "To present the MTV EMA's is a dream, it's such a special event. We've always loved watching the spectacular performances and seeing who everyone has voted to win. This year we'll also be performing our new single 'Sweet Melody', our second EMA performance. The show will go on and we can't wait!"
It's safe to say their much-anticipated performance delivered. The choreography, vocals, outfits, and video-game-like set gave it the incredible virtual-reality-meets-actual-reality vibes.
Unfortunately, the group were a woman down for the live event, as Jesy Nelson couldn't attend due to illness, according to a spokesperson for the band.
Little Mix was nominated for best pop, best group, best virtual live for "UNCancelled", and best UK and Ireland act, and they won best pop and best UK and Ireland act. Congrats!
