Love Is Blind's Kyle and Deepti Break Up

"Love Is Blind" Stars Kyle and Deepti Reveal Split: "Decided to Go Our Separate Ways"

Deepti and Kyle in Love Is Blind: After the Altar season 2.

The last remaining couple from "Love Is Blind" season two has called it quits. On 19 Sept., series star Kyle Abrams announced via Instagram that he and costar Deepti Vempati broke up just three days after the season's "After the Altar" episode aired, in which the pair made their relationship official.

"I understand many of you are curious as to where Deepti and I stand today. Since After the Alter was filmed, we had decided to go our separate ways in early summer," he wrote in a post. "Thank you to everyone who has followed our journey through arduous vulnerability and has supported us along the way."

In his split announcement, Abrams also shared that he's gotten involved in a new romance with someone else, but didn't disclose their identity. "I have since embarked on a new relationship which I intend to keep private for a bit," he added. "As for what the future holds, I have not a clue. Going forward I plan to live each day in the present without any regret."

On 20 Sept., Vempati made her own announcement about her and Abrams's split with a video montage of them posted on Instagram. "Kyle and I are now walking different paths and are no longer together," she wrote in a caption. "We couldn't share these memories over the past year so sharing them now. Thank you all for your continued love and support 🤍."

Abrams and Vempati are the latest "Love Is Blind" breakup following divorce news from Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones, and Nick Thompson and Danielle Ruhl — both who announced their splits in August within a week of each other. Abrams and Vempati sparked romance rumors after the former revealed romantic feelings for his costar during the "Love Is Blind" season two reunion. During the special, which premiered March 4, Abrams recapped how his relationship with ex Shaina Hurley was "a big waste of time" before he seemingly professed his love for Vempati, who memorably got engaged to but broke up with Shake Chatterjee in the season two finale.

"I have a huge regret," Abrams told hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey. "Biggest regret is I should've asked Deepti to marry me. That's what I learned the most is I f*cked up. I should've tried harder for you. I love her so much, she's the best. I wish I saw what was right in front of me."

Although Abrams's confession seemed to come out of left field, he and Vempati formed a tight bond off screen as friends, which eventually turned into something more. Back in April, Vempati and Abrams fueled relationship rumors when they were photographed cozying up to each other at Coachella. In a since-deleted Instagram photo, the pair were seen hugging and holding each other's hand next to former Bachelor Nation couple Katie Thurston and John Hersey.

Per the end of "After the Altar," it seemed that Abrams and Vempati were finally on track to take their romance seriously but remained fairly quiet about their relationship after filming ended. On Sept. 8, Abrams told POPSUGAR, "Right now we're going to keep our status private." He added: "We haven't seen the show [yet], and also the show has not aired. I know people want to know, but we want to talk about it together. Neither of us are going to individually say where we're at. So I'll leave it at that."

Abrams went on to say that he and Vempati "hung out every day" after filming wrapped on season two, "especially all through the winter." "Then after a year had gone by, there were questions of where are we at in our relationship," he said. "Either we stay best friends or we give it a shot. So, the hesitations that we had were if we break up, can we still be best friends? Usually it's a no, so that was why we were so hesitant [to make things official]."
