Sam Healy makes a very brief appearance in season six, and to say that he seems like a changed man would be an understatement. Considering that Healy checked himself in to a mental hospital at the end of season four, he definitely needed a break. While he is at first caustic, outdated, occasionally cruel, and strangely homophobic, Healy is now bubbly and content. When he meets with his former coworker Joe Caputo, he encourages Caputo to move on and find some way to be happy and content in life.
