In order to keep from breaking her best friend's heart, scientist Olive fabricates a relationship so she can get back to focusing on her work in The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood. Unfortunately, her highly unscientific methods involve kissing the first man she sees (an arrogant professor) and getting herself entangled in a complex fake dating plot.
