The film stars Lily Collins — way before "Emily in Paris" — as Clary Fray, a New York City teenager who discovers she's a Shadowhunter, a half-angel warrior who protects humanity against the forces of evil. While "The Hunger Games" turns the citizens of Panem against each other, in "City of Bones," Clary has to enter the magical underground world of NYC to face vampires, demons, and other fantastical creatures.
