Katherine Newbury (Emma Thompson) is on the brink of losing her late night talk show. She's earned herself a reputation as a brash woman-hater, so she does what she thinks will help boost her ratings and prove people wrong: hire a woman for her writing team. Molly (Mindy Kaling) joins the team and hits the ground running to try to improve the show, but she and Katherine butt heads. Mostly it's because Katherine really doesn't care about what Molly has to say. It's a battle of wills between these two tough women, and the best way through it is to work together.
