"Beautiful Boy" is based on the memoirs "Beautiful Boy: A Father's Journey Through His Son's Addiction" by David Sheff and "Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines" by Nic Sheff. In one of his follow-ups to his breakout role in "Call Me by Your Name," Chalamet plays Nic Sheff, a young man struggling with a drug addiction. Steve Carell plays his father, David, who's doing whatever it takes to save his son and his family.
