Based on a short story of the same name by author Joe Hill — the son of famous horror writer Stephen King — "The Black Phone" tells the harrowing story of a 13-year-old boy named Finney Shaw as he fights to escape a masked murderer called The Grabber.
Trapped in the killer's basement, Shaw discovers that he can communicate with The Grabber's former victims through a mysterious old rotary phone. The victims, returning from beyond the grave to ensure what happened to them never happens again, each offer Shaw different advice on how to escape. Meanwhile, Shaw's little sister, Gwen, communicates with her brother through dreams and visions and tries to guide law enforcement closer to him.
