"The Summer I Turned Pretty" has officially been renewed for a third season. The season will consist of 10 episodes, according to Amazon Studios, and Jenny Han — who wrote the books the show is based on — will return as showrunner.

The show was renewed for a third season prior to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike, according to a press release, and its release date remains contingent on the length of the strike. The news about season three comes in the midst of "The Summer I Turned Pretty" season two, which is currently airing weekly episodes on Prime Video, with the finale set to premiere on 18 Aug.
