This Beautiful Guitar Cover of "Dance Monkey" Is Exceptionally Soothing on the Ears
The popular song "Dance Monkey" by Tones and I has an incredibly catchy beat that makes it perfect for cardio dance routines and ab workouts — even Goldie Hawn can't resist busting out some moves to it. But one woman's guitar cover of the song slowed it down and has it sounding totally different.
Josephine Alexandra, an 18-year-old musician from Indonesia, shared a video last month of her covering the song while playing fingerstyle guitar on her YouTube channel, and it's easy to see why it has over 2.5 million views. Even on the superhigh notes the singer hits, Alexandra's guitar skills follow suit. Fingerstyle guitar is a technique where you pluck the strings with your fingers or with picks attached to your fingers instead of strumming. It allows you to play multiple parts of the song at once.
