What Will Trevor Noah Do After "The Daily Show"? His First Move Involves Documentaries

Trevor Noah is leaving "The Daily Show," and he already has big plans for the future. After a seven-year run on the late-night Comedy Central staple, the comedian is ready to explore other career ventures. Following his exit announcement on the Sept. 29 episode of his show, Noah stopped by "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to discuss his departure from "The Daily Show" in depth.
"Everything is what I'm going to be doing."
"Why not?" Noah asked on Oct. 13 when Fallon questioned his decision to leave "The Daily Show." "People ask you this question as if you're telling them bad news, and I can understand that," he adds. " . . . I think of this as a joyous thing. I lived through a crazy time; I shared it with people who were kind enough to share it with me. We lived through something, and what's on the other side? I don't take anything for granted anymore. I don't believe that life is a given. I don't assume that things will come to me. So I just go, 'This is it. This is time.'"
What Will Trevor Noah Do After "The Daily Show"?
When asked what he plans to do next, Noah declared: "Everything." "I'm going to get drumming lessons from Quest[love]," he joked. " . . . I'm so excited to do everything. I didn't get to travel as much, doing stand-up around the world — I'm excited to do that . . . Producing, working behind the camera, working on different ideas. Going back home spending more time with family in South Africa. Everything is what I'm going to be doing."
As far as Noah's immediate plans go, he has a series of documentaries called "The Turning Point" releasing on MSNBC, all of which will highlight hot-button topics in the US — including climate change, reproductive rights, and the Jan. 6th capitol riots. Per Deadline, the first of Noah's docuseries, "Shouting Down Midnight," will premiere on Oct. 23, followed by "From Devil's Breath" — produced by Leonardo DiCaprio — on Nov. 13 and "Split Screen" on Nov. 20.
