Popsugar Entertainment Twitter Reactions When Was Jim and Pam's First Kiss on The Office? No One Can Decide When Jim and Pam First Kissed on The Office, and I'm Going Crazy 15 November 2019 by Quinn Keaney Image Source: NBC There are two very important moments for Jim and Pam shippers that come up early on in The Office: season two's premiere, when Pam kisses Jim in the heat of the moment while heavily intoxicated at the Dundies; and in the season two finale, when Jim can't take it anymore and kisses Pam after confessing his true feelings for her. Both of these kisses happen while Pam is engaged to Roy, and until today, I didn't realise how both of these kisses are equally controversial among fans of the beloved NBC sitcom. On Thursday, The Office's official Twitter account posted a "fun fact" for viewers: "@johnkrasinski's first on-screen kiss was with @jennafischer during Casino Night (2006)." The tweet references the "Casino Night" episode of the show, when Dunder Mifflin hosts a Casino-themed fundraiser and Jim takes the aforementioned opportunity to tell Pam that he loves her. But what about that kiss in Chili's?! #TheOffice Fun Fact! @johnkrasinski's first on-screen kiss was with @jennafischer during Casino Night (2006). pic.twitter.com/La1eFKSptq — 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚘𝚏𝚏𝚒𝚌𝚎 (@theofficenbc) November 13, 2019 To quote Oprah, what is the truth, NBC? Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam, luckily swooped in and tweeted, "Or was it Dundies?? Discuss!" I am discussing, Jenna! And I'm still confused! Does Jim and Pam's kiss during the Dundies not count because it was more of an excited friendly gesture? God was in that Chili's that night! It should count! But then again, Jim's kiss with Pam in "Casino Night" remains one of the most romantic — if not the most romantic — moments throughout the entire series. Perhaps that's the level of dedication that it takes for John Krasinski to consider it his official "first" onscreen kiss? Either way, things eventually got so heated that The Office's Twitter account eventually posed a new question: "When was Jim and Pam's first true on-screen kiss?" Let's compare the evidence ahead. Very much before the season two finale, "Casino Night." It might not be the most romantic kiss, but it's still a kiss nonetheless, right?! 1 / 14 Exhibit B: Jim Kissing Pam in "Casino Night" Image Source: NBC The season two finale is just *swooooon* thanks to Jim and Pam's highly-anticipated makeout sesh, and now apparently it's a lot more controversial than I could have ever imagined. (Don't tell Roy.) 2 / 14 Some fans are firmly #TeamDundies: 1st kiss was in season 2 episode 1, The Dundies— Joe Clayton (@DodgerBlue_88) November 13, 2019 3 / 14 Let’s break this down scientifically... If I were Roy, and I witnessed the event in the photo below, I would have attacked Jim long before “The Negotiation”. You’ll see the evidence outlined. A drunken accidental kiss is still very much a kiss. I have spoken. pic.twitter.com/OsJNgywprj— Colin Young (@ColinYovng) November 13, 2019 4 / 14 uh... hello? the dundies? pic.twitter.com/8sQxkA03VB— letis | 21 (@evelynabbtt) November 13, 2019 5 / 14 pic.twitter.com/5DqKDAKN0D— Mandy (@spidermandy_) November 13, 2019 6 / 14 dundies not even a question cmon guys— Nick Garcia (@nickjg613) November 13, 2019 7 / 14 No it wasn't. There first kiss was the Dundies Awards when Pam was mad at Roy and got drunk.— Chris Harden 🦇 (@ChrisCade4) November 13, 2019 8 / 14 But then there are others who insist "Casino Night" is the official kiss: Casino night is the first true kiss obviously— ‘𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐒 (@planetmillerr) November 13, 2019 9 / 14 It comes down to that word “true” ... Pam definitely kisses Jim at the Dundies but she was drunk so some don’t consider it a true kiss. Whereas at Casino Night Jim kisses Pam and both admit to not being that drunk and there for is considered the first true (intentional) kiss— Gabrielle Delagrange (@GabrielleRene27) November 13, 2019 10 / 14 Jim doesn’t kiss Pam back in the Dundies🤦🏻♀️— Negative Nancy (@Michellemackk_) November 13, 2019 11 / 14 casino night. period.— vic | grephen romcom (@OlivarryGrephen) November 13, 2019 12 / 14 You’re changing the question! JK’s first on-screen kiss is during The Dundies... JAM’s first “real” kiss is during Casino Night (obviously). @jennafischer @johnkrasinski pic.twitter.com/IAXwpG3IV8— Ava (@ThisIsYour30s) November 13, 2019 13 / 14 At the end of the day, though, at least Oscar would be proud of us all: The entire fanbase just actually-ed the official Twitter account.
