After shying away from the public, Melania Trump re-emgered for President Donald Trump's State of the Union Address. She wore a white Dior suit paired with a Dolce & Gabbana top and stood tall in a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps. On the surface, Melania's choice of attire isn't surprising because she loves tailored pieces and has worn designer suit sets before.
But if you dig a little deeper, the cream-colored pantsuit almost resembles the white shade suffragettes adopted in the 1900s. (Hillary Clinton famously wore white to make her speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2016.) In addition, many Democratic women wore black to the SOTU address to raise awareness about sexual assault and harassment, which the president has been accused of in the past.
