Elle and Dakota Fanning Showcase Their Contrasting Styles For a Sisters' Night Out
Elle and Dakota Fanning enjoyed a stylish sister outing on 28 March. The famous siblings made a rare joint appearance for The Hollywood Reporter and Jimmy Choo's Power Stylists Dinner, where their stylist, Samantha McMillen, was honoured among other celebrity wardrobe curators including Jennifer Austin, Molly Dickson, Law Roach, and Jason Bolden.
The Fannings showed off their contrasting interpretations of sexy spring dressing for the event: Dakota, 29, chose a red leather minidress from Loewe's spring 2023 collection, prominently featuring a faux anthurium flower covering one boob and a green stem acting as a strap. She paired the daring number with gold ankle-strap heels and a silver ear cuff. Elle, 24, deviated from her usual princess dresses and wore a cropped pinstripe vest and matching low-rise trousers from Stella McCartney's fall 2023 collection, which debuted at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month. She finished the outfit with black platform heels and gold Cartier jewellery, including a watch and three bracelets.
Both sisters spoke highly of McMillen during the party. "No one deserves this more than Samantha," Elle told The Hollywood Reporter, referencing her being named one of the top 25 most powerful stylists. Dakota added, "She's someone who helps you to feel your best or however you want to feel in any particular moment. Stylists help you to feel comfortable in your own body; you're very intimate with them because you're naked half the time. It's having someone who understands your personality, your body, and your vibe so much that it makes everything come to life in the best way possible."
The Power Stylists Dinner was the first time we've seen the Fanning sisters step out together since Elle's "Teen Spirit" screening in 2019. They were in fashionable company for the evening, with Jodie Turner-Smith, Megan Thee Stallion, Riley Keough, Jurnee Smollett, and their respective stylists also in attendance.
