In a joyful celebration of Black-owned fashion and sustainability, H&M launched a collaboration with Lemlem, a womenswear brand founded by Ethiopian supermodel, actress, and maternal-health advocate Liya Kebede. Known for its effortless aesthetic, Lemlem was born following a trip to Kebede's native land, where she decided to create opportunities for traditional weavers who no longer had a market for their craft.
The brand's artisanal designs are reflected in the full collection, which features an array of lightweight, easy-to-wear, and versatile cover-ups, tops, maxi dresses, shorts, skirts, swimsuits, and accessories. The pieces are crafted from sustainable materials, including organic linen and recycled polyester, and are just as wearable for city weekends as they are for spontaneous beach getaways. The colour palette is a cheerful combination of blue, soft pink, white, neons, and a hint of pale yellow.
