Tracee Ellis Ross has been stunting her way through virtual appearances left and right this past year, and her latest WFH look is providing ample inspiration to ditch our sweatpants — well, for a day, at least. Before popping onto The Tonight Show Monday evening, the always-fashionable Black-ish star enlisted help from stylist Karla Welch to dress for the occasion. Her pick? A one-of-a-kind power suit she hand-selected and subsequently tossed over Tracee's garden gate to be extra cautious and avoid close contact. Talk about teamwork making the dream work!
The suit they mutually agreed on is from contemporary artist Sterling Ruby's S.R. Studio. LA. CA. 2021 couture collection. It's bright red and features multiple black leather panels that read, "'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring," the opening line from the holiday poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas." We may technically be nine months away from Christmastime, but hey, time doesn't actually exist during a pandemic, so we're down to celebrate jolly ol' St. Nick any time of year. Tracee accessorised the oversize set with items she already had in her closet, including brown boots from The North Face x Gucci collection and red Celine hoop earrings.
If you've already transformed into the heart-eyes emoji after one peek at Tracee's latest power suit moment, just wait until you see the hilarious behind-the-scenes fitting pictures she shared on Instagram Stories. They're totally reminiscent of photos we've texted friends while frantically trying to pick out the perfect outfit. Check 'em out ahead, and prepare to whisper, "same, Tracee," under your breath.
