Watch Bianca Andreescu Discuss Winning the US Open on Fallon

Bianca Andreescu Explained What Was Going Through Her Head During THAT Serena Match

What goes through someone's head when they're playing Serena Williams in the US Open finals? Well, just ask Bianca Andreescu. The 19-year-old Canadian tennis player recently sat down on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where she opened up about beating Serena in the thrilling finals match, and how she was able to get through it mentally. "It was pretty shocking," she said about playing in such a high-pressure situation. "I got a sense of how that was during Toronto in the finals, so I was able to control my emotions a little bit better. I was really, really nervous before the match but when I stepped on the court, I just stuck to my game plan and I did some really good things." A humble queen!

Bianca even credited Billie Jean King for helping her get in the right head space. "There's always going to be pressure whether it's the pressure you put on yourself or the external pressure," she said. "Billie Jean King says, 'Pressure is a privilege,' and I just try to embrace it as much as I can."

She started the year ranked no. 152, and now, she's no. 5. Bianca's reign is just getting started. Watch the video above to see how it's all sinking in for the young star, and see her try to teach Jimmy how to flip his racket like she does.
