Popsugar Health & Fitness Netflix Navarro Cheer Team Post Goodbye Messages on Instagram Gabi, La'Darius, Morgan, and Jerry Say Goodbye to Navarro Cheer After Daytona's Cancellation 18 March 2020 by Karenna Meredith First Published: 17 March 2020 Image Source: Netflix The Navarro College cheer team is ending its season earlier than anticipated after the cancellation of the NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship in Daytona, Florida. The competition closed for the first time in 40 years due to coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns, leading the cast of Netflix's hit docuseries to say goodbye to each other in a bittersweet way. Following the news, athletes like Gabi Butler, Jerry Harris, Morgan Simanier, La'Darius Marshall, and Shannon Woolsey shared personal messages for the team on Instagram, celebrating what was likely their last season with Navarro. For many viewers at home, Cheer and the athletes it highlighted became an overnight hit. The cast made talk show appearances, inspired an SNL skit, and made cameos at NYFW and the Oscars. If you watched the show's first season, you know exactly how important Daytona is for the cheerleaders and how disappointing its cancellation must be. There's a lot of blood, sweat, and tears that go into training for such a demanding event. Despite these difficulties, the team is still staying positive and spreading a lot of love online. We still don't know if Netflix has renewed the series for a second season, but fingers crossed, so we can finally see (and appreciate!) the work Navarro put into its 2020 routine. Keep reading to see what the athletes have to say after the close of the season.
