Vital Proteins Launched New Collagen Gummies, and They Taste Just Like Candy With Less Sugar

I love my unflavoured Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides ($43 for 20 ounces). For years, I've been adding it to my coffee and smoothies every morning for a boost of protein, and I swear I've noticed a difference in my hair and nail health. But now, Vital Proteins has made getting your collagen even easier with its new Collagen Gummies ($18), which come in grape flavour. They honestly taste like grape fruit snacks or candy and contain only five grams of sugar in each four-piece serving size. Each serving is 50 calories and offers three grams of protein and 2.5 grams of bovine collagen peptides. For comparison, one serving of the brand's unflavoured Collagen Peptides has 20 grams of bovine collagen peptides, so 2.5 is still a modest amount. Vital Proteins says these gummies can be taken on their own or added to other collagen supplements you already take.

And since taking vitamins in gummy form is much easier, tastier, and more fun than swallowing a horse pill, Vital Proteins also released new Women's Multi Gummies ($18) in raspberry flavour that contain 200 percent of your daily vitamin D3, your daily value of vitamin B6 and folate, and other essential vitamins and minerals intended to boost energy. Each two-gummy serving is just 20 calories and two grams of sugar. They do taste a little chalky with a bitter aftertaste — they're not as much like candy as the collagen gummies — but they are still easier to take than swallowing multiple vitamins.

And if you're really looking to up your vitamin-gummy regimen, then try the Vital Proteins Beauty Gummies ($18) in strawberry. I can't speak to whether they can transform your skin, hair, and nails, but these gummies are made with biotin (which experts say has some good evidence for efficacy), vitamins A and C, and zinc. At the very least, they taste like candy at just 15 calories and two grams of sugar per serving. If they can help strengthen your hair and nails, what's the harm in trying?

All three vitamin gummies are now available on the Vital Proteins website. If you're considering adding any new vitamins to your regimen, be sure to talk to your doctor about what vitamins, supplements, and medications you are taking. I will keep sticking to my unflavoured Collagen Peptides in my coffee each morning, but if I'm craving something sweet, I might just add in these new gummies as well.
