Watch Trailer For Represent, Ficto.tv Series on US Surfers

Get Hyped For the Olympics With "Represent," a Docuseries on Team USA's Women Surfers

When surfing makes its Olympic debut in Tokyo this summer, Team USA will roll in with two of the best women surfers on the planet. Their paths to the Games took place over one heated 2019 season that whittled a stacked American pack down to two athletes, and that journey is now chronicled in Represent, a docuseries dropping May 6 on Ficto.tv. POPSUGAR got an exclusive first look at the trailer and can confirm: we're adding this one to our queue.

The series follows surfers Carissa Moore, Caroline Marks, Lakey Peterson, and Courtney Conlogue through one intense season in the World Surf League, as the four Americans vied for just two coveted Olympic spots. Beyond that tight race, Represent also dives into the exclusionary, borderline "chauvinistic" beginnings of the sport and how the current crop of women are progressing surfing in leaps and bounds. (In a recent competition, for example, Moore landed an enormous aerial that experts were already calling a "defining moment" for surfing.)

"Being able to document the journey of four of the best Team USA women surfers and witness their strength and drive to the top of the world rankings has been an amazing experience," Justin Jung, the creator and director of the series, said in a press release. "I can't wait to share their stories with the world as surfing makes its Olympic debut."

The series's first season consists of six 10-minute episodes, with a second season to air later this year, following the surfers as they compete in the Olympic Games. Both will be on Ficto.tv, a free, mobile-only video streaming service and interactive content company.
