This series, which is executive produced by Mindy Kaling and loosely based on her life, centres around a first-generation Indian American girl named Devi (played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) as she navigates the struggles of high school, boys, and adolescence. As Devi gets ready for her sophomore year of high school, she is determined to be popular and snag a hot boyfriend.
