Popsugar News Twitter Reactions Reactions to Trump's Presidential Alert October 3, 2018 Donald Trump Sent a Nationwide "Text," and People Would Like to Opt Out Immediately 3 October 2018 by Erin Cullum Image Source: Getty / Gary Gershoff Yes, hello? What is that god-awful noise? Don't fret, it's just the sound of Donald Trump texting you. On Wednesday, Oct. 3, the president pulled a U2 and slid into everyone's personal phones by sending out a "presidential alert." The message, sent at 11:18 a.m. PT, was part of a nationwide emergency alert test by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency). The text sounded like an Amber Alert and read: "THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed." Some people did not receive the alert (if you didn't, there's no need to worry), but many of those who did are not exactly fond of the idea — where do we opt out?! To get a kick out of yet another loud moment from this presidency, read ahead for some of the funniest reactions to this first-of-its-kind test.
