The night before a big surgery, all 5-year-old Kyu San Juan wanted to do was have a dance party with his grandpa. So dance, they did . . . in the frozen food section of a Green Bay, WI, grocery store. Born with a "cerebral arteriovenous malformation (AVM), a tangle of abnormal blood vessels connecting arteries and veins in the brain," Kyu had had one surgery already, a "craniotomy AVM resection" following the AVM's rupturing. Unfortunately, the AVM grew back, and on June 5, Kyu was set to have surgery again — but not before dancing.

In a post on Facebook, his mom, Ràšámî Møûä, shared that at 11:57 p.m. on the night of June 4, Kyu approached his grandpa, Txhiaj Sawm Muas, and said, "Grandpa, let's go dancing!"

After convincing his grandpa the time to dance was then and there, Txhiaj changed out of his pajamas (Kyu opted to dance in his red PJs), Ràšámî drove them to the grocery store, and Txhiaj became confused. "Do you guys need to buy something?" he said. Kyu informed his sceptical grandfather, "No grandpa, we dance here in the [grocery] store," and when Txhiaj hesitated over the fact that people might think they're "crazy," Kyu told him: "Grandpa, use your imagination. You can dance anywhere!"

The pair shimmied their way up and down the frozen food aisle to the tune of "Rebel Just For Kicks" by Portugal. The Man, and it seems as though the choreography sent the best vibes into the universe for Kyu, who came out the other end of a successful surgery the next day.

"We are so pleased to announce that Kyu was discharged this evening (Friday, June 7th)," Ràšámî wrote on Kyu's Facebook donation page. "He's recovering so well, taking his walks through the halls with his nurse like a champion being so full of energy that the doctors don't see why he can't go home to finish recovering in the comfort of his own bed."

And we're sure he'll be back to dancing in the frozen food aisle very soon, too.
