Jason Bateman Told His 11-Year-Old the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and Santa Aren't Real — and LOL

Jason Bateman got very candid about a conversation every parent eventually has with their kids during an appearance onThe Jimmy Kimmel Show to promote the second season of Ozark. He hilariously recounted how he told his 11-year-old daughter Franny that the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and Santa weren't real after being completely grilled about their existence. And frankly, we can't hold it together.

The 49-year-old father of two told Jimmy that the conversation began innocently enough. He and Franny were headed to the airport for a father-daughter bonding weekend when Franny brought up how confusing it is that bunnies can't actually lay eggs, before asking point blank if the Easter Bunny was actually real. Like every other parent in the universe, Jason wasn't exactly sure how to answer the question. He said that he was "approaching a blackout of nerves in her questioning."

After explaining that a few of her classmates have already mentioned that the Easter Bunny wasn't real, Franny demanded the truth along with a pinky promise, and everything went downhill very quickly. From there, Franny asked her dad about the logistical nightmare that is being the Tooth Fairy — how does she carry money and all those teeth, anyway? — as well as whether or not Santa is real.

By the end of the car ride, Jason had completely spilled the beans and was forced to text his wife with his tail between his legs. Her solution? Make Franny pinky swear she won't ruin it for her 6-year-old sister Maple. Apparently, that did the trick!
