This Little Girl's Mom Made Her a Replica of the Dress From Crazy Rich Asians For the Best Reason Ever

As soon as Ha was done with the costume, Olivia's eyes totally lit up. She immediately beelined to the mirror to get a better look and do a twirl or two. The look on her daughter's face made Ha especially proud of her heritage. She hopes that by sharing Olivia's story, more underrepresented groups will get their chance in the spotlight.

Eventually, Constance Wu caught wind of Ha's post and shared it on Instagram the day Crazy Rich Asians hit theatres with the caption: "Possibility. That's what seeing yourself reflected in stories gives you. Love this girl."

Constance's post hit home with Ha. "This is part of my children's story," said Ha. "I don't want them to lose that part of them. I want them to know where they came from, for the people they grow up to be and for who they see in current events."
