Survey on the Sex Lives of Millennial Moms

Women get back in the saddle pretty soon after having children.

Peanut found that 52 percent of mamas had sex as soon as their docs gave them the green light, and nearly 38 percent of moms had sex within three months of having a baby. With that being said, almost 62 percent of women said they were nervous about their first time postpartum. Although new moms don't have nearly as much sex once their kiddos are born, that doesn't necessarily mean the shop's closed for good.

More moms are having sex for themselves, not just for their partner's sake.

According to the results, women are feeling more empowered by sex. The survey found that 55 percent of millennial moms say they have sex for themselves, and that is something we can get behind.

Some women enjoy postpartum sex MORE than prebaby sex.

Overall, 73 percent of women enjoy postpartum sex, and 22 percent of women say the quality of their postpartum sex is BETTER than prepartum. (Talk about something to cheer about!) The survey also determined that 26 percent of mamas say the sex has gotten worse since giving birth, while 52 percent say their hanky-panky quality has pretty much stayed the same.

Parents get walked in on regularly.

Ever have one of your kiddos come traipsing in mid-nookie? Then you know how truly mortifying that split second of realisation can be. Fortunately, you're not alone. Nearly 59 percent of the moms surveyed said it's happened to them before too. Eek!

Many couples have sex with their infants in the room.

Believe it or not, 45 percent of moms, especially those with babies under 1 year old, admit that they've had sex with their partner while their child was in the same room.

Just because you have kids doesn't mean the intimacy dies down.

Having little ones running around doesn't equate to a permanent dry spell for most couples. In fact, more than half of the millennial moms surveyed have sex multiple times a week. The survey found that overall, 19 percent of moms surveyed said they had sex more than three times per week, while 29 percent of the women said they do it two or three times per week. Additionally, 25.7 percent of millennial moms said they have sex once a week. Only 13 percent of the women admitted they were down to once a month, and another 13 percent said they had sex less than once a month.

On the whole, millennial moms want to have more sex.

Yep, you read that correctly. Peanut discovered that nearly 56 percent of mamas think about sex often, and 61 percent want to have sex more frequently.
