Claire Crosby Covers Olivia Rodrigo's "Driver's Licence"

This 8-Year-Old Doesn't Need a Driver's Licence to Nail This Acoustic Olivia Rodrigo Cover

When I was 8 years old, Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway — an album about heartbreak, betrayal, and despair, of which I'd experienced none — was my favourite album of all time. Why? I had no idea until I saw 8-year-old Claire Crosby's acoustic cover of Olivia Rodrigo's "Driver's Licence" and she put my 8-year-old self's exact feelings into words. "I know I don't have my driver's licence or anything like that," she pointed out in a video uploaded to her family's YouTube account on Jan. 22. "This is not the story for me. I'm only eight, but I just wanted to play this song for you 'cause I like it."

With her acoustic guitar in hand, Claire spent the next three minutes belting out an adorable PG cover of the song that proves you can fall in love with a breakup song at any age — driver's licence or not. "You know I still love you, babe," Claire sings at the end of the chorus, replacing Olivia's "I still f*cking love you" with a lyric of her own that blends seamlessly into the song. We're not sure if Olivia's looking for anyone to collab with at the moment, but Claire should definitely be at the top of the list. Give the sweet cover a listen here and see what it'd be like if Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift did a collab of their own here.
