Zaire Wade Supports Zaya in a Heartfelt Post: "You Are My Best Friend and I Love You, Kid"
Zaya Wade is surrounded by so much love and support. Just one day after Dwyane Wade shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that his child came out as transgender, Dwyane's older son Zaire is showing love to his sibling on social media. Alongside two adorable throwback pictures, 18-year-old Zaire praised his "best friend" Zaya with an outpouring of love about their bond.
"Man, I remember bugging my mom as a kid telling her I wanted a brother so bad. I was the only child looking for company and someone to look after and take care of. I have been blessed to have my best friend, Zaya with me for 12 years," he wrote on Instagram. "We did everything together...we fought, we played, we laughed and we cried. But the one thing we never did was leave each other behind... I've told you that I would lay my life down to make sure you are ten toes down and happy on this earth."
He added, "I don't care what they think Z, you are my best friend and I love you, kid, and if it means anything, just know there's no love lost on this side ✊🏾."
Dwyane and Gabrielle Union's blended family has long stuck by each other's sides. Whether it's Dwyane shutting down parent shamers over Zaya's Thanksgiving manicure or Zaire standing by Zaya's side at the Miami Pride parade last year, it's clear she's got the most incredible support system.
