Gorilla Mom Bonds with Human Mom and Baby at Boston Zoo
This Gorilla Cosying Up to a 5-Week-Old Baby at the Zoo Is Like a New Moms Support Group
Sometimes you just feel more comfortable with a fellow mama going through the same thing you are. Perhaps that's how Kiki the gorilla felt when she spotted Emily Austin, a human mom with her 5-week-old son, on the other side of the glass at a zoo in Boston.
Kiki gave birth to her fifth baby, a boy named Pablo, in October, and she took an immediate interest in a fellow mother-son duo — Emily Austin and her blanketed baby Canyon. At one point, near the end of the video captured by Emily's husband Michael, Kiki even brings her son up to the glass for introductions.
"When I walked into the zoo that day, I never could've imagined that we would have had that experience," Austin told ABC News of the encounter. "It was so beautiful, and we walked out just over the moon."
