Best Body Care: Isle of Paradise Express Self-Tanning Mousse
"I have previously been a big fan of Isle of Paradise self-tanning products, so I was intrigued to try out the new Express Self-Tanning Mousse (£20). I am also notorious for not getting organised with my tanning and manically applying as I walk out of the door. When I tried this self-tan, it developed in just 30 minutes and my skin felt super soft after I left the shower. Come summer, it will definitely be my go-to Plus, the guide colour left me streak-free!" – Joely Chilcott, UK Content Director
Best Anti-Ageing Serum: Tatcha The Silk Serum
Tatcha The Silk Serum (£98)
"Despite my job as a beauty editor, I'm a skin-care minimalist. I rarely use products outside of the necessary cleanser, moisturiser, and sunscreen. That said, Tatcha's new The Silk Serum may have convinced me to add a step to my routine. It's packed with antioxidant-rich cranberry extract to target dullness, which, in combination with sea fennel, also helps soften lines. I've only been using it for two weeks so far, but I'm already loving the glowy results." — KC
Best Body SPF: Rituals Sun Protection Milky Spray SPF 50
Rituals Sun Protection Milky Spray SPF 50 (£23)
"Sticky hands from applying sunscreen are a thing of the past thanks to this new Rituals SPF body spray. The milky formula left my skin feeling silky smooth thanks to a clever mix of hydrating ingredients like squalane, aloe vera, and algae. Not only did it protect my skin from the sun's dangerous rays all day long, it also made my skin smell gorgeous thanks to the iconic karma scent". — CD
Best Waterproof Mascara: Milk Makeup Rise Waterproof Mascara
Milk Makeup Rise Waterproof Mascara (£25)
"Thanks to the unpredictable English weather, I've spent more time than i'd like to admit re-applying mascara that either washed away in the rain or melted away in the sun. I don't often reach for a waterproof mascara but enough was enough, so I decided to try this brand-new release from Milk Makeup. I've put it through sunny showers, concert tears, and huge thunderstorms and I'm happy to report I've now swapped my normal mascara for this waterproof life-saver and I'm never going back". — CD
Best Hair Care: Function of Beauty Custom Straight Hair Shampoo with Boosters
"The Function of Beauty customisable shampoo (£12) and conditioner (£12) is a game changer. I've always struggled to find a shampoo and conditioner that gives me everything in one product, so being able to tailor the product to my exact needs is a godsend. I opted for the straight hair base with thermal protection (£4), shine (£4), and strengthen (£4) boosters. It was so simple to use, all I had to do was add the boosters to the base and give it a good shake. Not only do they leave my hair soft and shiny, they also leave my hair smelling good enough to eat. I really can't fault this product." — Chloe Dunn, social content producer.
Best Eye Cream:
Fenty Skin Thicc N Smooth Rich Peptide Eye Cream (£29)
"While I've got my cleansing and moisturising routine down, I am guilty of skipping the eye cream step. Due to the harsh winter, I've noticed my eyes feeling a lot drier and duller than usual, so I started using the Thicc N Smooth Rich Peptide Eye Cream every evening. I'm not exaggerating when I say it has worked miracles. Dry skin? Never heard of her. Thanks to this one product, I'll never skip eye cream again." — CD
Best Makeup Primer:
Glow Recipe Strawberry BHA Pore-Smooth Blur Drops (£29)
"I like to keep my skincare and makeup routine as simple as possible, often guilty of skipping the primer step. These Glow Recipe Blur Drops are the easiest way to make sure my skin is in tip-top shape, keeping it hydrated whilst doubling as a pore and oil minimiser. Not only does it create the perfect base, it also has the most delicious strawberry scent." — CD
Best Skincare: Charlotte Tilbury Magic Body Cream
"As a longtime stan of Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream, used on my face, I was thrilled to hear about the launch of a body version. Putting on the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Body Cream (£49) feels instantly luxurious. Not only is it hydrating, but it firms and softens, too. It's my go-to pamper for a Sunday evening after the bath or, you know, a Monday pick-me-up." — JC
Best Skin Care: Benefit The Porefessional Smooth Sip Lightweight Gel-Cream Moisturiser
"The Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional Smooth Sip Lightweight Gel-Cream Moisturiser (£35) is simple yet so good. It's lightweight but still hydrating, and it absorbs quickly, leaving behind plump, supple skin. It's also not the least bit greasy or sticky, which can occasionally be the case with gel creams. My boyfriend has also fallen in love with it (and stolen it for himself), dubbing it the perfect moisturiser." — JH
Best Makeup: Milk Makeup Sculpt Cream Contour Stick
"My girlfriend effectively steals the Milk Makeup Sculpt Cream Contour Stick (£22) straight out of my cosmetics bag every single time I use it, and I now have to keep hiding it from her. I can understand why, of course: not only is the packaging cute and bite-size (perfect for overnight trips or when you're rushing from one place to another), but the tiny packaging also makes the act of contouring a lot less intimidating, for which I am forever grateful." — Kelsey Castañon, beauty director
Best Makeup: Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink
"What do you get when you combine a delicious neutral lip colour, a long-lasting formula, and an affordable price tag? The Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink (£12). The shade Captivated is hands down my favourite from the brand's Vinyl Ink line, and when I say it doesn't transfer, you'll just have to believe me. This product almost feels too good to be true, but the proof is in the pudding." — Ariel Baker, assistant beauty editor
Best Body Care: Glossier Deodorant
"Glossier is known for its cult following, and as one its die-hard fans, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the new Glossier deodorant (£18). The aluminium-free product includes coconut oil, elderberry extract, magnesium hydroxide, and potato starch and kept me dry with super soft pits all day. I tried the signature Glossier You scent (because it's the best), but it also comes in sandstone and orange blossom neroli. There's even an unscented option if you prefer. The case is refillable so you can just buy infills for £15 and recycle the old one. After using for a few days, I definitely felt like my armpits has been moisturised so will be using again." — Joely Chilcott, director, UK
Best Makeup: L'Oréal Telescopic Lift Mascara
"The new L'Oréal Telescopic Lift Washable Mascara (£11) is actually incredible. It makes my lashes look long and fluttery, and while the Telescopic line is known for its lengthening capabilities, this mascara actually also gave me quite a bit of volume. I love a good drugstore makeup find." — AB
Best Skin Care: Ritual Glow Anti-Ageing Day Cream
"The Glow Anti-Ageing Day Cream (£37.50) is light, airy, and perfect for my sensitive skin. Using a plant-based alternative to retinol, it doesn't have a strong smell which is a bonus for me as I can sometimes find scents overpowering. It leaves my skin with a subtle glow, ideal for days when I want to go makeup free. It's also refillable so bonus points for the environment. And looks great on my bathroom shelf!" — CD
Best Skin Care: Tatcha The Rice Wash
"This is definitely a splurge but if you're looking to add a bit of luxury into your self care routine, try the new Tatcha The Rice Wash (£41). After just a couple of uses, I noticed my skin was feeling silkier than ever. I found that using it i my routine every other day gives me a gorgeous glow and keeps my breakouts minimal." - CD
Best Body Care: Sol de Janeiro Bom Dia Body Scrub
"There's no body moisturiser quite as recognisable as Sol de Janeiro's Bum Bum cream, but have you tried its sister Bom Dia? The Sol de Janeiro Bom Dia Body Scrub (£39) is like a facial for your entire body. If you like to have silky soft skin all year-round, add this to your selfcare shower routine ASAP." — CD
Best Skin Care: OLEHENRIKSEN Hydrabarrier Nourishing Face Oil
"After being on Roaccutane my skin needs all the hydration it can get, however I tend to shy away from facial oils as I don't want to add any excess oil back into my skin. However, this OLEHENRIKSEN Hydrabarrier Nourishing Face Oil (£45) is really light and gentle and it leaves my face feeling really smooth without the greasy feeling I was afraid of." — CD
Best Skin Care:
"Using the Aromatherapy Associates Hydra Plump Gel Cream (£55) is the ultimate at-home-spa experience. I'm already a believer in aromatherapy, usually inhaling a mix of energising body oils as soon as I wake up and spritzing my pillows with lavender pillow mist just before I go to sleep, so I was thrilled to add aromatherapy into my skin care routine as well. The cream is lightweight and soothing, perfect for day and night." — CD
Best Makeup: Benefit Cosmetics Fluff Up Brow Flexible Brow-Texturizing Wax
"Out of all steps in my makeup routine, I'm endlessly lazy when it comes to my brows. (Cara Delevingne, I am not.) Most days I can't be bothered to do anything to them, which is why even I was surprised that the Benefit Cosmetics Fluff Up Brow Flexible Brow-Texturizing Wax (£24) has become the best beauty discovery I've made in months. Unlike most brow pencils, stencils, or powders that require precision — and frankly, a few f*cks to give, which I don't have — this is a clear, flexible pomade that creates a feathery (read: natural) look with zero flakes. Plus, once you set the style, it does not budge all day; that means you could layer it on top of other brow products to keep them in place if you're into that sort of thing, or you could be like me and use on its own." — Kelsey Castañon, director, beauty
"My go-to brow products usually come from Benefit, and the brand's new Fluff Up Brow Wax quickly made it to my list of favourite new products this month. It keeps my brows in place all day without leaving them crunchy. It works well on its own, but it's also perfect for layering over my favourite brow pencils." — Renee Rodriguez, staff writer and social producer
Best Makeup: Rare Beauty Positive Light Under Eye Brightener
"The Rare Beauty Positive Light Under Eye Brightener (£23) actually looks really beautiful under my eyes, and I wasn't expecting it to. I tend to avoid putting too much product in the area because it already lacks quite a bit of volume, so piling makeup on tends to make it look worse. This almost felt like a tinted eye cream that gave me that first layer of concealer, therefore allowing me to use less product. The metal tip also felt extra cooling in the mornings." — AB
Best Makeup: Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Highlighting Powder
"Bobbi Brown Cosmetics partnered with celebrity jewellery designer Stephanie Gottlieb to create a stunning limited-edition collection. The line features some of the brand's best sellers but with new shades and jewel-inspired packageing, like the Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Highlighting Powder in Pink Glow (£39). The formula itself is a hybrid between a gel and a powder, leaving your skin with a lit-from-within glow. It glides on effortlessly, doesn't disrupt your other face products underneath it, and catches the light beautifully." — JH
Best Skin Care: Fenty Skin Plush Puddin’ Intensive Recovery Lip Mask
"Another day, another chance for a lip balm to get a coveted spot on my nightstand. This month, the Fenty Skin Plush Puddin' Intensive Recovery Lip Mask (£18) is the one that made the cut thanks to its deeply hydrating formula and absolutely adorable packaging. It doesn't take up much space on my admittedly crowded bedside table, and I don't have to dip my fingers into a pot thanks to the twist-up wheel on the bottom. When I wake my lips are soft, pillowy, and still have a slight shine from the night before, which I love." — AB
Best Hair Care: Gisou Honey Infused Hair Wash Shampoo
"I'm a big fan of Gisou hair products, especially its newly updated shampoo formula: the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Wash Shampoo (£29). The brand was created by influencer Negin Mirsalehi, and the products are made with honey from her family's bee garden. The shampoo smells amazing, keeps my hair looking bouncy and fresh, and leaves it feeling silky smooth." — RR
Best Body Care: Lush Deep Sleep Bath Bomb
"Lush has been regular feature of my self-care routine, so I was thrilled to find out it has delved into the world of fitness for 2023. While the brand has launched a magnesium massage bar, designed to help invigorate muscles and aid recovery, it has also introduced an epsom salts Bath Bomb (£5). The perfect addition to my Sunday night routine, it's lavender scent helps me prepare for a good night's sleep." — JC
Best Makeup: Maybelline New York Super Stay Up to 24HR Hybrid Powder-Foundation
"Maybelline's products always impress me, and the Maybelline New York Super Stay Up to 24HR Hybrid Powder-Foundation (£12) is no exception. I'm admittedly not a huge powder foundation girl (I have dry skin, which typically doesn't mix well) but this new formula played nicely with my complexion in more ways than one. It didn't leave my face feeling like a desert or cake-y after wearing it for hours, and though it has a matte finish, it still looks like your skin but with a soft focus filter. It's available in 16 shades and offers medium-to-full coverage that can be applied all over or, if you're like me, used to spot target certain areas only where I want it." — Jessica Harrington, editor, beauty
Best Skin Care: Oh My Cream Exfoliating Powder
"Ok so technically this one launched in the UK at the end of 2022, but this French brand is bound to hit must-try lists this year. I've struggled with face exfoliators in the past, but this Exfoliating Powder (£35) is my new go-to. Mixed with a few drops of water, it lathers up on the face and leaves me feeling super fresh." — JC
Best Body Care: Diptyque Do Son Cleansing Hand and Body Gel
"When it comes to fragrances, few do it better than Diptyque. New for 2023 is the Do Son Cleansing Hand and Body Gel (£36) that is guaranteed to leave your bathroom — and body — feeling super luxe." — JC
Best Makeup: Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Glow Glide Face Architect Highlighter
"I've long been a fan of Charlotte Tilbury's Beauty Light Wand to add a glow to my complexion (and make me feel more alive!) Now the celebrity-approved brand has added the Hollywood Glow Face Architect Highlight (£38) to its repertoire. While the wand is a liquid formation, this new highlighter takes that pigment into a powder formation that illuminates skin just as well." — JC
Best Body Care: Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 Shimmering Body Oil
"Have I had any reason to be wearing body shimmer over the last few weeks? No. But have I been taking any and every opportunity to wear the Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 Shimmering Body Oil (£195) anyway? Yes. This oil has the scent of the now-viral fragrance but also flecks of gold shimmer to leave my skin looking extremely well moisturised. It's a pricier product but it doesn't look glittery on the skin, so if you want to get your money's worth and wear it every day, you can. Plus it will make you look next-level moisturised for special nights out. This is a win-win in my book." — AB
