I Never Wear Lipstick, Because This $9 Tinted Lip Balm Is All I Need

I like to consider myself a makeup minimalist. My daily look pretty much consists of tinted moisturiser and the same orangish eyeshadow. It's a good day if I feel like adding mascara. Needless to say, I pretty much never wear lipstick, I'm much more of a lip balm kind of girl. If I want to add some colour to my look, I prefer tinted lip choices because they're moisturising and give me that tiny colour pop I want.
My current favourite is hands down the Billie Lip Salve ($9). You may have come across the brand on your Instagram, which is known for making affordable (and cute) razors that are delivered right to your door — but the site a few more things to offer. It just launched face wipes, a dry shampoo that our editors are loving, and the lip salve.
What makes it so good? Not only does it give my lips the perfect amount of colour, but it's so moisturising, I don't feel the need to reapply constantly. What I can really get behind is the brand's mission. It all started because the founders thought women were being overcharged for razors (they're right) and now they're expanding into clean cosmetics made with ingredients you'll actually want to put on your face and in your hair. I have a few favourite tinted lip balms, but some can cost upwards of $20. So, I also love that this one is more affordable.
The salve is made with four key ingredients: sunflower oil, avocado oil, candelilla wax, and vitamin E — making it vegan and paraben-, sulphate-, alcohol-, and cruelty-free, so you can feel good about using it. The salve comes in three tints: light pink, a deeper pink, and a more red shade. It's also available in five flavours, two of which have a clear application.
