Wednesday Addams Would Approve of Jenna Ortega's Edgy "Wolf" Cut
Jenna Ortega is wrapping up her "Wednesday" press tour with a whole new look. The star debuted an edgy "wolf" cut during her "Tonight Show" appearance on 16 Dec., and it's the shortest we've ever seen her hair. A cross between a shag and mullet, the TikTok-famous wolf cut is characterised by lots of choppy, wavy layers and volume, and it works on a variety of lengths and hair types. Ortega's version of the short-in-the-front, long-in-the-back style — courtesy of celebrity hairstylist David Stanwell — hits just above her shoulders and features curtain bangs that blend into longer face-framing pieces.
When Ortega posted her transformation on Instagram, her "Wednesday" costars instantly gave their approval and hyped her up in the comments. Hunter Doohan, who portrays Tyler Galpin in the Netflix series, wrote, "OMG HELP" with a fire emoji, while Joy Sunday, AKA Bianca Barclay, commented, "Immediately yes." Percy Hynes White (Xavier Thorpe) likened her hair to rock singer Joan Jett's signature look, and Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair) hilariously added, "I think maybe I um…. when you um… I think…uh *gulp* …. hi."
Ortega's wolf cut is a far cry from the long, black, braided pigtails she wore to play Wednesday Addams. While promoting the show, the 20-year-old actor has channelled the character's goth style into her beauty looks, rocking "marinated" makeup, black nail polish, and dark eyeshadow for various talkshow and red carpet appearances.
