Concealers are the definition of versatile, covering everything from breakouts and dark spots to brightening the undereye area and highlighting or contouring. We're always on the hunt for the best new formula on the market and have tried plenty of options for every complexion need. As a result, our standards are pretty high when it comes to giving our stamp of approval. So when we learned that Makeup by Mario had recently extended its bestselling SurrealSkin line with the SurrealSkin Awakening Concealer ($29), we decided to have three POPSUGAR editors put it to the test.
Products from the brand itself, which was created by Kim Kardashian's makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic, have earned rave reviews from the team already — especially the SurrealSkin Foundation, Soft Pop Plumping Blush, and Ultra Suede Lipsticks — so we had high hopes going into the experiment. The SurrealSkin Awakening Concealer is a lightweight formula that is buildable with medium-to-full coverage and promises a skin-like, natural finish. It's infused with caffeine to depuff and fermented marine microorganisms for a plumper appearance. The brand also claims this concealer blurs imperfections and self-sets. It's available in 22 shades in a variety of undertones.

"Makeup by Mario's new concealer is just what I needed to conceal the signs of exhaustion around my undereye area. What really impressed me the most is how well it sets on the skin once it's blended out to your liking. At first, I thought the shade 380 might be a little too light for my dark tan skin tone; however, it really blends well with my complexion when it sets and gives an overall brighter appearance. I have neutral undertones, but I find that the warmth of this shade also helps me colour correct any dark shadows. My eye area looked more lifted and awake, and the finish looked smooth yet natural.
