Mary J. Blige: rock star, actress, and lover of drugstore beauty. After seeing Blige take the stage and absolutely crush the Super Bowl halftime show last night, we were mesmerised not only by her perfectly blended smoky eye and blinged-out pink nails but also by her gorgeous platinum-blond curls.

Blige's cascading curls added some impressive hair-ography to her set last night, and her hairstylist Tym Wallace exclusively used drugstore products to achieve the look. To start, Wallace prepped her hair using the Carol's Daughter Goddess Strength Shampoo ($11) to thoroughly cleanse and the Carol's Daughter Cocoon Mask ($12) to repair and strengthen her hair in preparation for styling. After rinsing, he used a quarter-size amount of Carol's Daughter Goddess Strength Divine Strength Leave In Cream ($12) and brushed through with Tangle Teezer's The Ultimate Detangler ($17) brush to "evenly distribute the treatment through the wet hair while gently detangling."

Once he began styling, he applied the TRESemmé One Step Texture 5-in-1 Texturizing Mist ($6) to the entirety of her hair, followed by the TRESemmé Total Volume Hairspray ($6) in sections throughout. He then used a one-and-a-half-inch flat iron and Marcel curling iron to create alternating waves. After using his fingers to break up the curls to give the style a less rigid look, he sprayed the TRESemmé Total Volume Hairspray ($6) and brushed through her hair once more, this time using the Tangle Teezer The Ultimate Finisher ($18) brush, which has soft tips that "glide through the hair to create major volume, texture, and shine," Wallace says. Lastly, he finished up the look by spraying the TRESemmé One Step Texture 5-in-1 Texturizing Mist ($6) to create loose, airy pieces throughout her hair.
