Quirky and better for the planet, KANKAN is shower gel in, you guessed it, a can. Essentially it's a refillable system with significantly less plastic. The idea is that you purchase a glass bottle, which you keep forever, then buy canned refills, which can be tossed in the recycling rather than throwing plastic pouches in the bin. Infinitely recyclable, these cans are better for the environment when compared with regular plastic shower gel bottles and refills. In addition to being recyclable, the can is lighter in weight meaning it's better for shipping emissions.
In October, the company is selling the bottles with slight printing errors that didn't pass quality control and are unable to be sold regularly in a new KANKAN "Near Perfect" Starter Pack (£19) — think of it as the wonky veg box of shower gel. For every £19 spent, £5 will be donated to Kids for Kids, a charity helping kids suffering in Darfur, Sudan.
