We were in for a real treat with the hair and makeup at the SAG Awards this year. While there were plenty of smoky eyes and sleek updos giving us modern Hollywood feels, we couldn't help but notice the nod to the '90s (sans skinny brows) with some of the red carpet beauty.

You bet we noticed Millie Bobby Brown's throwback french manicure, which we're so into, by the way. But we also spotted that "piecey" stands of hair made a comeback, too. And given how these celebrities styled the look so perfectly, we're welcoming it back with open arms. The trend refers to having the hair either in an updo or styled in a way that distinct pieces of hair, typically either side of a middle part, are purposefully left out at the front of the face.

A whole host of celebrities stepped out on the red carpet with some iteration of the trend. Jennifer Lopez opted for a very chunky version, wearing her hair in a sleek updo with two pieces at the front of her hair. While Natalia Dyer chose to fade her bangs with longer strands of hair for a softer overall feel. Ahead, get a closer look at all of the celebrities that gave "piecey" strands another go, and looked incredible doing so.
