Shaggy Bob Haircut Trend For Autumn

Why the Shaggy Bob Is Going to Be the New Must-Try Haircut This Autumn

Shaggy Bob Haircut Trend For Autumn

Pardon the undue Austin Powers quip, but haircuts this Autumn are looking very shagadelic, baby. Almost in rebellion to the blunt cuts sweeping the streets of New York City (and just about everywhere else) right now, but aligned with the all-encompassing bob trend, the latest style to emerge this season is just what hair gods ordered: the shaggy bob.

"Last Autumn and even into Spring and Summer, we saw a lot of blunt haircuts with no layers," said Mark Townsend, celebrity hairstylist and Dove brand ambassador. "Those cuts don't give you as much versatility, so going into Autumn, we're going to see a lot of the same lengths but with a lot of layers and movement."

"The movement it gives the hair is almost flirty and youthful, and it's a haircut that works on every hair type and texture."

That means the bob itself is here to stay — cue the sigh of relief — but this newer iteration of the trend will be infinitely shaggier and undone. "The movement [of the layers] it gives the hair is almost flirty and youthful, and it's a haircut that works on every hair type and texture. A lot of the inspiration behind the transition from a blunt bob to a romantic bob is actress Lucy Boynton. She rocked the look throughout awards season this year and showed off how incredibly versatile a layered bob could be. She wore it up, she wore it down, straight and sleek, with very soft waves."
