Simone Biles Wears Glazed-Doughnut Nails to Her Bachelorette Party
Simone Biles's manicure was certainly on theme for her "bach and boujee"-themed bachelorette party in Belize. On March 1, the Olympic gymnast posted a series of photos from her beachside celebration, highlighting the iridescent glazed-doughnut manicure she had for the weekend. Her pearlescent almond-shaped nails instantly caught our eye as she showed off a menu from one evening of the trip. She put her glossy manicure on display once again as she gripped a bottle of Clase Azul tequila from underneath the covers of her hotel bed with a letter board reading "Future Mrs. Owens" in the background.
Biles, who got engaged to NFL player Jonathan Owens last year, is no stranger to an elegant nail trend. She tends to gravitate toward more classic looks, previously wearing a double french manicure to highlight her engagement ring, and keeping it simple with an ultra-chic supermodel manicure. More recently, she's stepped up her nail game even more with subtle details, inscribing her fiancé's first initial on her ring finger as a sweet tribute.
The glazed-doughnut manicure walks the line between minimalism and glamour. Popularized by Hailey Bieber's manicurist, Zola Ganzorigt, its dewy sheen adds a pop to otherwise neutral nails. Ganzorigt initially achieved the look while prepping Bieber for the 2022 Met Gala, applying a neutral baby-pink polish before adding chrome powder.
"I've done chrome before, but I had never done it with a thin coat of polish before — and as soon as we did it, I was like, 'I'm sticking with this.
