Today in "Well, we never saw this coming, but we're so here for it" news, it looks like Frances McDormand and Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim might have a joint snowboarding adventure on the horizon, and we already have FOMO. So how exactly did their unexpected yet glorious budding friendship come to be? Here's what went down.
When Frances McDormand took the Oscars stage to accept the best actress award for her role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, she was understandably a bit overwhelmed with emotion. In the heat of the moment, the only way she could sum up her feelings was by comparing them to Chloe Kim shredding it on the slopes.
"I think this is what Chloe Kim must have felt like after doing back-to-back 1080s in the Olympic halfpipe," the actress joked before going on to wow the crowd with an incredibly empowering speech.

Needless to say, the medal-winning snowboarder was totally starstruck by Frances' cute yet out-of-the-blue shoutout. Later that evening, once Chloe caught wind of the actress's comments, she took to Twitter to express how "shook" she was feeling and suggest a snowboarding date in the future.
