Pete Davidson Tattoo of Big Sean Lyrics

Pete Davidson's First-Ever Tattoo Was a Tribute to Ariana Grande's Ex-Boyfriend, Big Sean

We've reached a certain point in pop culture history where things can now be described as BPA (Before Pete and Ariana) and APA (After Pete and Ariana). Pete Davidson recently did an interview with Variety where he discussed his many tattoos, and more specifically, his first-ever tattoo that he got with his friend Ricky (this was BPA), which has a weird connection to now-fiancée Ariana Grande. "I was 17 when I got my first tattoo, it's a tattoo I got with my buddy Ricky, and it says, 'swerve life,'" he shared in the intimate interview video.

"Because the Big Sean song, he was like, 'Swerve!' And we were like, 'That's gonna last forever,'" Pete recalled of Kanye West's 2012 hit "Mercy," which featured Big Sean, Pusha T, and 2 Chainz. "So, now that's on our legs."

Since then, Pete has undoubtedly added to his ever-expanding list of tattoos, and he even has a few adorable designs for Ariana. But his first tattoo likely holds more meaning now than it did for Pete at age 17, considering Ariana used to date the rapper. Ariana and Big Sean dated for about eight months from 2014 to 2015, and she even made an appearance in his "Patience" music video. Pete appears totally unfazed by the irony of the tattoo, but fans were quick to connect the dots. Read on to see Pete's full video and how fans are reacting to his "swerve life" ink.
