To say this has been a busy week for the royal family would be an understatement. Though many of the senior royals are busy on various royal engagements, on May 8, all eyes were on Windsor, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finally gave us a glimpse of their baby son and later revealed his name: Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. As well as meeting the public, this was the day the tiny new royal also met his great-grandparents for the first time. Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, were photographed with Archie, his parents, and his grandmother Doria Ragland in a sweet photo posted to the Sussex Royal Instagram account.
But before she met the newest member of her family, the Queen had another important engagement to attend: the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Queen Elizabeth's passion for horses is well-known, and she didn't let the rain stop her from sitting front and centre to watch her own horses Lancer IV and Tower Bridge compete in the first day of the show. Much like her annual trips to Royal Ascot, the show offered us a rare glimpse of the Queen at her most animated and excited, as she laughed, smiled, and grimaced her way through the morning's events. Keep reading to see her at her finest, pulling the kind of faces you can wait years to see.
