Ferne McCann Reveals Her New Baby's Name, and the Meaning Behind it Is So Sweet
Former TOWIE star Ferne McCann welcomed her second child, a daughter, with her fiancé Lorri Haines on 6 July. Taking to Instagram on 9 July, the star revealed that she has become a mum for the second time after sharing a clip of her newborn in black and white as her eldest child, Sunday, puts her hand on top of her new sibling, followed by Haines's hand and then her own. "It's a girl 06.07.23," the 32-year-old wrote in the caption beneath the video.
And now, McCann has revealed the new baby's name, and the meaning behind her moniker is so sweet. In an interview with OK! Magazine, the reality star revealed that her new baby's name is Finty Francis Haines-McCann. Whilst her first name Finty doesn't have any family ties with the star, she explained that it was inspired by Judi Dench's daughter's nickname. "I've always loved it and never heard it anywhere else before," she told the outlet. "I just feel so connected to the name - she came out and she was just Finty." As for her middle name, this one has a closer meaning for McCann. "Francis is my grandad's name - it's a nod to Grandad Frank," she explained.
Her celebrity friends and fans alike took to the comments section to share their praise for the family at the time. "Congratulations guys!!! Another angel," said Vicky Pattison, who recently opened up about freezing her eggs, whilst Ashley Cain wrote: "Huge Congratulations Ferne, absolutely beautiful!"
The former "The Only Way Is Essex" star is already a mum to 5-year-old Sunday, whom she shares with her ex Arthur Collins, who was jailed for 20 years in 2017 after carrying out an acid attack during a night out. The attack left 16 people with chemical burns, and temporarily blinded three others.
The media personality got engaged to Haines last July, sharing the happy news in an Instagram post where she showcased her gorgeous ring. "So happily ever afters do exist 🥰💍❤️🇫🇷," she began. "I cannot wait to do forever with you baby @lozzahaines ❤️."
McCann and Haines have joined a slew of celebrity parents with babies born this year, including Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, and Jessie J and Chanan Safir Colman. We're so excited to see more of McCann's gorgeous new arrival! You can see the video of their new baby below.
