What We Know About "Tell Me Lies" Star Grace Van Patten's Super-Private Love Life

If you aren't familiar with the name Grace Van Patten, you're about to be. The up-and-coming actress first began making a name for herself as a child actor, but it was her breakout performance in Hulu's "Nine Perfect Strangers" that really cemented her rise in Hollywood — and, consequently, her name and face among fans. Presently, Van Patten is portraying Lucy Albright, a college student stuck in a toxic romance in Emma Roberts's psychological romance series, "Tell Me Lies," which is based on Carola Lovering's 2018 novel of the same name and premiered on Hulu on Sept. 7.

Given the show's romantic nature and Van Patten's role, fans are already curious about her own dating life. Van Patten has mostly kept that aspect of her life under wraps, though. And when she has referenced or teased a possible romance, it's typically always on her social media. But even then, Van Patten still stays extremely tight-lipped. In December 2017, Van Patten seemingly confirmed her relationship with Nat Wolff when she posted a birthday tribute to the actor on Instagram. While the pair never publicly spoke about their romance, they did make a point to support one another's careers on social media. In May 2018, they walked the carpet together at the Christian Dior Couture spring/summer 2019 cruise collection, where Wolff gave Van Patten a kiss for the cameras.

In 2019, the couple began attending more events together, as well as costarred in the dramedy "Good Posture." An official confirmation of their relationship didn't come until Wolff's celebratory anniversary post in 2020. However, that was the last time they appeared on each other's socials. The next year, though, they were photographed arm in arm at the premiere of Amazon Studios's "Panic" in May 2021. Fans are left wondering whether or not they are still indeed a couple.

It's quite possible — especially given how private Van Patten is about her dating life — that Van Patten and Wolff are still together. Neither the "Nine Perfect Strangers" actor nor the multihyphenate have been romantically linked to other partners, and if the last few years of their relationship taught fans anything, it's that a lack of Instagram tributes doesn't necessarily mean there's trouble in paradise. Only time will tell, but it will be interesting to see if Wolff publicly supports Van Patten's new leading role in Hulu's "Tell Me Lies" or if Van Patten will have a new plus one in the near future.
