Miss Argentina and Miss Puerto Rico Announce Their Marriage
Miss Argentina Mariana Varela and Miss Puerto Rico Fabiola Valentín swapped their tiaras for wedding rings. The beauty pageant contestants kept their relationship private from the public after competing together in the Miss Grand International in Thailand in 2020. Then, on 28 Oct., the couple announced their marriage on Instagram, sharing photos from their wedding day. "Después de decidir mantener en privacidad nuestra relación, les abrimos las puertas en un día especial," they wrote, which translates to, "After deciding to keep our relationship private, we opened the doors to you all on a special day."
In the Instagram video posted over the weekend, Valentín and Varela shared a quick slideshow with snapshots from their relationship. The montage, set to "Lugar Seguro" by Jay Wheeler and Noreh, includes clips of the pair lounging on the beach with their initials framed by a heart in the sand, snippets from romantic hotel getaways, gondola rides, relaxing afternoons in the countryside, fun date nights, and photos of the two kissing in front of the courthouse in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The couple even shared glimpses of their crown-shaped engagement rings and post-engagement celebrations with family and friends.
Toward the end of the video, they included a peek at the moment Valentín proposed to Varela. In a room flooded with red, white, and gold balloons, Valentín set up wine, candles, and a balloon display along the balcony doors that read "Marry Me?" Though we only see a few seconds of Valentín sliding the ring on Varela's finger, Varela's smile is all the heartwarming confirmation we need that the moment was magical.
